Chelmsford police are seeking a man who they say robbed the TD Bank branch on Drum Hill Road early Friday morning.

According to a statement, police responded shortly after 8 a.m. that day to the reported robbery. Bank staff told cops the suspect wrote a note on a withdrawal slip and claimed to have a gun, police said. After receiving an undisclosed quantity of cash, he fled the bank on foot toward the Lowell city line.

Police described the suspect as an Asian man in his 20s with a thin build. They said that at the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black "military-type" jacket with a breast pocket, blue "scrub-type" hospital pants, a black winter hat and white sneakers.

No one was injured during the robbery.
