Children's Hospital BostonChildren’s Hospital Boston has hired Norwalk, Conn.-based construction company EMCOR Group Inc.’s J.C. Higgins subsidiary to install of its mechanical systems.

J.C. Higgins will install the HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems in the hospital’s new 100,000-square-foot addition to its main building, according to a statement. The addition will consist of 10 new stories, with a two-level penthouse and two levels below grade.

"Children’s Hospital Boston is one of the oldest and most respected pediatric medical centers in the U.S., and it’s extremely gratifying to be able to increase the comfort and safety of the hospital’s patients, and the doctors and staff who help them, through the work we perform in creating precise, systems rich environments," said Ron Ledoux, president and CEO of J.C. Higgins.
