George A. Ciccone has been hired as the full-time executive director for the Marlborough Economic Development Corp. (MEDC).
Ciccone has more than 30 years of economic development experience, including having held the post of economic development director in North Adams, Somerville, Chelsea, Attleboro and Worcester, according to a statement.
"We are delighted to have George on our team," said MEDC Chairman Arthur Bergeron. "His wealth of experience in Worcester in particular, together with his innovative and collaborative approach, will be key to implementing strategies for Marlborough’s economic development."
Ciccone replaces Marilyn Whalley, an economic development consultant, who worked with the MEDC board of directors as its part-time executive director during the past year.
