Fall River-based Citizens~Union Savings Bank has donated $10,000 to the Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) to support its relationship violence prevention programming.
This donation will help KBEP maintain a presence in schools in Greater Fall River communities, including Dighton, Fairhaven, Somerset and Swansea, according to a statement.
"The well-being of our youth is one of Citizens~Union’s top priorities," said Nicholas M. Christ, president and CEO of Citizens~Union Savings Bank. "Since education about the critical issues surrounding relationship violence is so imperative to that well-being, it just makes sense for us to support the Katie Brown Educational Program and encourage the youth of our community to strive for healthy and respectful relationships."
"All of us at KBEP are so appreciative of the support we receive from Citizens~Union," said Ruth Zakarin, KBEP executive director. "From employee dress-down day contributions to this donation, Citizens~Union has been a strong community partner for our organization, showing their commitment to preventing, and eventually eliminating, relationship violence among our youth."
