Bank of America
U.S. Trust Bank of America Wealth Management volunteers helped restore the Sarah Greenwood School library in Dorchester by reorganizing and re-shelving hundreds of books after they’d been scanned into a computer.
Bay State Savings Bank
Bay State Savings Bank donated $3,000 to Best Buddies of Central Massachusetts, a nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, through proceeds from Bay State’s 2015 Taste of Shrewsbury Street fundraising efforts and employee dress-down days.
The Institution for Savings
The Institution for Savings, through its Main Street Rockport Charitable Foundation, granted $5,000 to ACTION Inc. for the new Education and Training Center and $2,500 to Backyard Growers towards its community gardens program. The bank also announced that it donated and pledged $344,085 in the first half of 2015 to nonprofits in the greater Beverly and Cape Ann area.
Leader Bank
Leader Bank committed $2,000 each to two charities named by Boston Mayor Martin Walsh and Treasurer Deborah Goldberg at its Boston Seaport Innovation District branch opening. Walsh chose the Laboure Child Care Center in South Boston, a community service center of Catholic Charities. Goldberg decided on the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund, which supports various economic empowerment programs.
MutualOne Bank
MutualOne Bank awarded $2,000 to support special needs programs provided by Camp Arrowhead, the Natick Recreation and Parks Department and Parents Association of the Handicapped. The grant will provide seven one-week camperships to special needs families requiring financial assistance with program tuition.
Needham Bank
Needham Bank donated a Soofa bench, which has solar-powered charging capabilities for electronic devices, to the town of Ashland. The bench is the first of its kind for Ashland and will be located in the park a few hundred yards from Needham Bank’s newest office in Ashland.
Needham Bank is also a premier sponsor of the 11th annual Dover-Sherborn Boosters Triathlon. The bank is giving a grant offering anybody a no-cost opportunity to develop a high-touch, program-rich banking relationship with it.
