Bank Of America
Bank of America’s CEO Brian Moynihan on June 4 was honored by YouthBuild Boston at its gala, Engineering Change: Celebrating 25 Year of YouthBuild Boston, for his years of service on the nonprofit’s board.
Berkshire Bank
Berkshire Bank has selected 30 high school seniors to receive a total of $45,000 in scholarships through its Berkshire Bank Foundation Scholarship Awards Program.
Cummings Foundation
Cummings Foundation Inc. awarded more than $100 million in grants to Greater Boston nonprofits. The foundation reached its goal with the conclusion of the 2015 grant cycle of Cummings’ “$100K for 100” program.
HarborOne Bank
HarborOne Bank President and CEO James Blake, along with more than 50 bank employees, on June 2 spent a day of service at Plymouth’s Camp Clark, painting rooms in the Science Center, making small repairs around the camp and creating journals for campers. HarborOne also donated $1,000 to provide scholarships to help campers needing financial assistance.
Homefield Credit Union
Homefield Credit Union held a contest for K-6 students in Grafton Elementary Schools. Each participant was required to create a poster and an essay, for grades 1-6, describing what they would do as a millionaire for a day. Cash prizes were awarded at each grade level.
Leominster Credit Union
Leominster Credit Union donated $8,000 to Starburst as its premier sponsor. Starburst is an annual community event providing entertainment, music and fireworks that Leominster Credit Union has helped fund for nearly 20 years.
MutualOne Bank
MutualOne Bank awarded $23,000 in scholarships to seven Framingham students. Four students received MutualOne Charitable Foundation scholarships for $5,000 each. Three Latino Framingham High School seniors each received a $1,000 Edwin Alexis Marin Memorial scholarship, which was established to encourage Latino students to continue on to college.
NAIOP Massachusetts
NAIOP Massachusetts held its 27th Annual Charitable Golf Tournament on June 3rd. The event raised $220,000 to support Heading Home, an organization aimed at ending homelessness in Greater Boston. The tournament drew nearly 400 golfers from all sectors of the commercial real estate industry.
Naveo Credit Union
Naveo Credit Union’s Community Cooks Serving Circle Team is celebrating its two-year anniversary of donating home-cooked meals to ShortStop, a community-based residence and transitional house for homeless young adults. Naveo also has “snackers” who provide ShortStop with juice, fruit and nutritional bars, among other things.
SpencerBANK
SpencerBANK donated $720 to the Friendly House Inc. in Worcester. The donation will go toward the Friendly House summer program scholarship fund, which will give a child the opportunity to participate in the organization’s summer camp program for eight weeks.
