Hyannis-based Cape Cod 5 presented 87 grants totaling $39,932 to 110 teachers from 46 local schools to fund educational projects that they have developed. The teachers estimate that these projects will impact close to 24,000 students.
Clinton Savings Bank
Clinton Savings Bank employees collectively raised $658 to present to Binkeez for Comfort, a nonprofit located in Shrewsbury which supports children and families afflicted with an acute medical crisis.
Davis Malm
Boston law firm Davis Malm took part in the Boston Bruins Foundation’s Fourth Annual BFit First Responder Challenge, a stair climb at the TD Garden benefiting the families of fallen first responders.
Dedham Savings Bank
Dedham Savings Bank has donated $10,000 to the Charles River YMCA. The funds were used to pay for the programming aimed at educating new parents about childrearing.
The bank also donated $10,000 to VFW Building Corporation–Norwood. The grant will be used to fund facilities repairs to gutters, siding, and railings.
The bank also donated $7,500 to Golden Opportunities for Independence. The funds will be used to fund police officer trainings with Community Resource Dogs.
The bank also donated $6,500 to Thomas J. Curran Early Childhood Education Center. The grant will fund program support, including the purchase of a large order of T-shirts for the school’s social and emotional learning curriculum.

Hanscom Federal Credit Union
Hanscom Federal Credit Union volunteers prepared dinner for service members and their families at Fisher House Boston on Feb.5. Fisher House Boston is located at the VA Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury Campus, and provides no-cost lodging and logistical support for family members caring for hospitalized U.S. veterans.
Main Street Bank
Main Street Bank in Westborough hosted an onsite visit for students in the town of Westborough BORO program. Students were given a tour of the branch, including what to do when they visit a bank and want to make a deposit or take out money.
Middlesex Savings Bank
Natick-based Middlesex Savings Bank donated $520,000 to 52 local police and fire departments in recent weeks.
The Foundation for MetroWest, as part of a partnership with Middlesex Savings, recieved a $40,000 gift from Concord’s Emmerson Hospital. The foundation’s Business Leadership Fund was made possible through a partnership between the foundation and Middlesex Savings’ own foundation and will increase its impact as other businesses contribute.
MutualOne Bank
Framingham-based MutualOne Bank gave $7,500 to the John Andrew Mazie Memorial Foundation to support the Foundation’s Mazie Mentoring Program at Framingham High School.
The bank also made $4,115 donations to SPARK Kindness and Resiliency for Life. The award was made at the conclusion of the bank’s 2019 Checking for Charity initiative, which promised a $10 donation to be shared equally by SPARK Kindness and Resiliency for Life for every new personal or business checking account opened during the year.
North Shore Bank
Peabody-based North Shore Bank recently met with representatives from LEAP for Education, which supports first-generation college students, to present them with a $10,000 check.
Wayne Griffin Electric Inc.
Holliston-based electrical contractor Wayne Griffin Electric worked directly with Anton’s Cleaners to collect new and gently used winter coats for those in need. Employee donations exceeded 250 coats in men, women, children and infant sizes. Supporting the Holliston Pantry Shelf as in years’ past, Griffin employees adopted families through the organization’s Mitten project, providing children with holiday gifts. They also supplied paper goods and non-perishable items to the food pantry.
