Just three weeks after announcing a planned merger with RE/MAX Leading Edge, Hammond Residential’s Cambridge office has lost seven agents to Compass Real Estate so far, and more departures are expected.

Compass announced today that seven top-producing agents have joined the company’s Cambridge office. Carol Kelly, Myra von Turkovich, Charles Cherney, John Bigelow, Bruce Irving, Bonny Lamb and Ross Duncan Brown were all ranked in the top 10 percent at Hammond before leaving.

“We are thrilled to welcome such a great number of talented and knowledgeable real estate professionals to our Compass Cambridge team,” Jeffrey Heighton, Compass regional vice president of Massachusetts, said in a statement. “I am confident that their businesses will continue to thrive alongside Compass’ solid brand, unmatched technology and agent support.”

Compass launched in Boston in 2015 and then in Cambridge in early 2016 with two of Hammond’s former star agents Christian Jones and John Petrowsky. Compass now represents approximately $575 million in annual sales in the Boston area. Compass also recently launched a first-of-its-kind live market report via a mobile app for the Boston housing market.
