Converse Inc. opens its sixth retail store in the U.S. on Friday at the base of its new 214,000-square-foot corporate headquarters in Boston.
The 3,500-square-foot Converse at Lovejoy Wharf store sells footwear, apparel and accessories and contains a pair of workbars where shoppers can customize Chuck Taylor sneakers with unique designs or their own artwork, with prices starting at $150.
Converse’s corporate workforce relocated in April from North Andover to the century-old former Schrafft candy company property at 160 North Washington St. Designed by The Architectural Team of Chelsea and Jennifer Carpenter Architect of New York, the building features open workspaces, outdoor decks on the second and ninth floors, a central staircase and a Chuck Taylor sneaker chandelier installation.
