David Ellis, a commercial agent with Norwell-based Jack Conway was named "Ambassador of the Year" at the South Shore Chamber of Commerce’s recent annual meeting and luncheon held at Lombardos in Randolph.
"Dave Ellis has done an outstanding job as an ambassador and he is a worthy recipient of our 2012 Ambassador of the Year award," said Chamber President and CEO Peter Forman. "His contribution and those of his peers are vital to our association’s growth and stability and to making the South Shore a better place to live and work."
The 1,500-member South Shore Chamber of Commerce is an independent association committed to improving the business climate south of Boston, from Quincy to Plymouth. Its ambassadors are volunteers who recruit new members to the group and help to involve them in the organization.
Company founder Jack Conway, a former president of the South Shore Chamber, and Conway CEO Carol Bulman, who serves on the group’s board of directors, also attended the presentation.
"We are so proud of Dave for receiving this honor," said Bulman. "We encourage all of our agents to get involved in our industry as well as in their own communities, and Dave is a perfect example of someone who does it all."
A Marshfield native and 2006 graduate of Babson College, Ellis also serves on the board of directors of the South Shore Young Professionals.
