The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council has reappointed David J. Cotney, commissioner of the Division of Banks, to the Council’s State Liaison Committee (SLC).
Cotney first stepped onto the committee in October 2010 to take over a seat left vacant by the resignation of Sarah Bloom Raskin, who stepped down to take up her appointment to the board of governors of the Federal Reserve. His first full term will continue through April 30, 2014.
Cotney has over 20 years experience with the DoB, having served as the chief operating officer, senior deputy commissioner for administration and policy, and deputy commissioner prior to taking over as commissioner. In 2007, Cotney was appointed as the first SLC representative to serve on the Council’s Task Force on Consumer Compliance where he served as chair from April 2010 to March 2012. Cotney remains a member of the task force, helping ensure depository institutions’ compliance with federal consumer protection, anti-discrimination and Community Reinvestment Act laws and regulations.
