Tom Courtney has been named Realtor of the Year by the Northeast Association of Realtors (NEAR).
Courtney is a sales agent with RE/MAX Prestige in Westford and was 2011 president of NEAR. He currently serves as a director of the association and a member of its Executive Committee. He is also a member of the board of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors
Courtney, a resident of Westford, is a past president of the Rotary Club of Westford and a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
The award was presented at NEAR’s Recognition Gala, held at the Tewksbury Country Club this week. Other honorees at the event included:
Angela Harkins, broker/owner of Angela Harkins & Associates Real Estate in Westford, received a distinguished service award for her work for the association
Larry Yameen, broker/owner of L.J. Yameen Real Estate in Lawrence, received the good neighbor award for his work with local charities
Linda Kody, broker/owner of Kody & Company in North Andover, received the "Educator of the Year Award" for outstanding real estate training.
Tom Popson, branch manager with the Mortgage Network in Westford, who was named NEAR Affiliate of the Year
Larry Wangerin, an agent with ERA Home & Family Real Estate in Andover received the Unsung Hero Award.
The association also presented a number of "Top Producer" awards to approximately 20 percent of the association’s Realtor members based on their property sales volume during 2011, including two "Rookie of the Year" awards, which went to Joel Simes of Real Living Schruender Real Estate in North Andover and Marc Gelormini of Lillian Montalto Signature Properties in Andover.
