CPCU Credit Union has donated backpacks and school supplies to the Escola Portuguesa de Cambridge e Somerville Inc. (Portuguese School of Cambridge and Somerville) for the 2012-2013 school year.

CPCU has sponsored of the Escola Portuguesa de Cambridge e Somerville for more than five years, and funds scholarships for needy students.

Students were given the opportunity to win additional items, such as music cards, as part of an educational trivia game conducted by Rui Domingos, CEO of CPCU Credit Union, during the school’s recent open house.

"The first day of school, especially in a foreign language environment, can be intimidating and nerve-racking for some students. CPCU is a proud supporter of the Portuguese language and we hope that our interaction with the students makes learning more fun for them," said Domingos in a statement.
