The credit union trade associations of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island have officially merged this week into one organization: the Cooperative Credit Union Association.

All three associations had unanimously approved this merger last fall, with the Massachusetts group being the last to vote on the matter.

The new entity will represent approximately 200 credit unions across its three-state footprint, but the associations’ local branding will be maintained in each state, Paul Gentile, president and CEO of the Massachusetts organization, said in October.
