Webster SchoolWaltham-based CTA Construction has broken ground on a 109,067-square-foot, three-story school in Webster.

The $35 million project was designed by Newburyport-based Dore & Whittier Architects. Boston-based Collaborative Partners is the owner’s project manager. The new school will serve students from grades Pre-K – 12 and replace the existing Park Avenue Elementary School.

Construction will be completed in three phases beginning with the demolition of the upper portion of the existing Park Avenue Elementary, followed by construction of the new building and then the demolition of the lower portion of the existing building once the new building is complete.

Site work will include all utilities, parking lots and roadways throughout the site. The new school will be a more compact, energy efficient building. The project is targeting LEED Silver certification. It will be completed in summer 2015.
