The Danversbank Charitable Foundation Inc. has donated $10,000 to Career Collaborative of Boston, in support of their efforts to help chronically low-income adults. 

"Career Collaborative’s efforts to end working-class poverty by helping adults get and succeed at life-changing jobs is vital," said Kevin Noyes, director of the foundation, in a statement. "They are truly one of those organizations that you can say makes Massachusetts and its families stronger."

Career Collaborative aims to break the poverty cycle by helping chronically low-income adults get good jobs they want, and by mentoring them for at least two years after they get these jobs.

"The Danversbank Charitable Foundation’s donation will have an immediate impact," said Susan Fox Schiro, president of Career Collaborative, in a statement. "A donation of this size is enough to fund our 4-week job-search course for 6 people.  It’s a 100-hour course that teaches career-building skills and includes a lot of individual help — 20 practice interviews apiece plus one-on-one help with résumés, cover letters, and finding job opportunities. With this gift, the Foundation is giving people the exact help they need to get good jobs with career potential."

The Danversbank Charitable Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Danversbank, which was acquired by People’s United Bank in 2011.
