Danversbank’s 2009 Charity Golf Classic last week raised $25,000 for the Massachusetts based Horizons for Homeless Children, according to the bank.
With this year’s haul, the annual tournament, held at Salem Country Club, brings the total donated in its five years to $118,000.
"While fund raising is critical to the success of Horizons for Homeless Children’s statewide programs for homeless children and their families, raising awareness about this crisis is equally important," said Meryl Sheriden, chief development officer for Horizons for Homeless Children.
Previous tournament beneficiaries include Massachusetts Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) (2004); One Family Inc. (2005); Operation Troop Support (2006); Children’s Friend & Family Services (2007); and the Animal Rescue League of Boston (2008).
