The Davis Cos., a Boston-based commercial real estate developer and manager, has hired Peter Vanderweil as senior development and construction manager.

Vanderweil came to Davis from Boston Properties, where he was a construction manager and worked on projects including the build-out of Biogen Idec’s headquarters in Weston.

Davis said Vanderweil, a Hingham resident, will oversee construction and development of new projects.
