Mike DavisMike Davis, principal and vice president at Bergmeyer Assoc. Inc., has been elected vice president / president elect by the Boston Society of Architects (BSA).

Davis has been a BSA member since 1986, and was elected to the AIA College of Fellows in 2010. He is completing terms as BSA board commissioner for public policy and co-chair of the AIA Massachusetts government affairs committee. He is also the current co-vice-chair (acting chair) of the Boston Civic Design Commission.

In recent years, Davis has served on Boston Mayor Thomas Menino’s green building task force (2002-03) and Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick’s net zero energy building task force (2008-09). He is an overseer and a member of the faculty at the Boston Architectural College, and serves on the board of directors of the Sustainable Performance Institute, the Boston Foundation for Architecture and the design advisory board of (Design Industry Group of Massachusetts).

In his latest role, Davis will be principally focused on the development of young professionals as new BSA leaders, increasing the value of public advocacy to the membership, and strengthening member firms’ effectiveness in advancing sustainable design, according to a statement.
