Needham Bank has sponsored the purchase of a new scoreboard system for Dedham High School’s gymnasium.

Thomas P. Arria, III, director of athletics for Dedham Public Schools, said the contribution is "a major gift which will make an immediate impact for members of our basketball teams, wrestling team and volleyball team, as well as our youth community groups who share in the use of our gym facility."

"We are extremely grateful for the donation made by Needham Bank," said Arria. "Members of Needham Bank constantly offer ways to make a positive impact on our student athletes and community; we are most appreciative."

"Sports provide a vital element of the school experience for both athletes and spectators," said Mark Whalen, executive vice president of Needham Bank and a Dedham resident. "It is our pleasure to sponsor Dedham High’s new scoreboard system and hope it is enjoyed for many years to come."
