Dedham’s The Rashi School will open a new LEED-certified building today.
The $30 million, 82,000-square-foot school was designed by Cambridge-based HMFH Architects Inc., according to a statement.
"The opening of our new school building is the realization of a vision set in motion by the Rashi School’s founders, and it is an incredible honor to see this dream become a reality," said Dr. Matt King, head of the school. "I am thrilled to lead Rashi’s students, staff and families as we begin this exciting new journey at our Dedham campus."
The green building features a system to collect rainwater for recycling, vernal pools around the perimeter of the building and toilets with flushing mechanisms to limit waste water, according to a statement. There is also a science lab, a multimedia library and resource center, music and art rooms and a regulation size gymnasium and outdoor athletic fields.
