New Bedford’s Partners Insurance Group LLC has named Hans R. Doherty vice president of its J.M. Doherty division. J.M. Doherty Insurance joined Partners Insurance Group in October as the network’s sixth privately owned local insurance agency.

In his new position, Doherty is responsible for sales as well as internet and social media marketing for the agency. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been employed at J.M. Doherty Insurance Agency since 1995. A multi-line broker, he assists clients with life, health, disability, auto, home, marine, and business insurance and employee benefits.

Doherty is a past president of the South Coast Chapter of Business Network International and currently serves as its growth coordinator. He also volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America.
