33 Arch St., BostonA 33-story, class A office tower at 33 Arch St. in Boston’s Financial District, has been awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance.

The 600,000-square-foot building, owned by a joint venture between AREA Property Partners and SITQ, was recognized for maximum operational efficiency with minimal environmental impact.

The building is exclusively managed and leased by CB Richard Ellis.

"It’s a great honor to be awarded LEED Gold Certification at 33 Arch St. and to be recognized for our commitment to environmental stewardship," said Brian M. Earle, partner at AREA Property Partners.

33 Arch St. was evaluated on its sustainability, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials, resources and indoor air quality.

"A significant amount of cost-effective improvements have been made to 33 Arch St. to increase the building’s operating efficiency, reduce utility consumption, and minimize the environmental impact of the building’s operations and maintenance," said Mark Tassinari, executive vice president/partner at CB Richard Ellis. "We’re pleased to be recognized for our efforts and to serve as a national symbol for superior energy efficiency."
