Akamai Technologies, an Internet technology company, has chosen Diversified Project Management to manage a 20,000-square-foot renovation at their corporate headquarters in Cambridge.

Akamai occupies several floors at Eight Cambridge Center. The company is undergoing a phased expansion, which will result in the occupation of the entire building, as well as four to five additional floors at Four Cambridge Center.

"When the first phase of our project completed successfully last year, we had no doubt that Diversified would continue to deliver outstanding project management services for our company," said Brian Murray, director of global facilities for Akamai.  "DPM stays on top of all the details and open issues so that nothing falls through the cracks."

The second phase of renovations begins with the fifth floor of Eight Cambridge Center, which will be occupied next month. The project includes demotion and reuse of some existing space and renovations of approximately 20,000 square feet, including offices, moveable workstations, conference rooms, computer labs, a break room and elevator lobby.

All phases and renovated floors will be seeking LEED Gold or Silver Certification, according to a statement.
