Shaun Dwyer has been promoted to first vice president and commercial team leader at Berkshire Bank for the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts.

Having previously served as vice president and commercial lender in the same region, Dwyer has more than 16 years commercial banking experience in the Springfield market, according to a statement.

In his new role, he will assume leadership of the Pioneer Valley commercial lending team, which works with business customers throughout the region’s 12-branch network in Hampden and Hampshire Counties. Dwyer will provide strategic direction as the team works with business customers to help them achieve their financial goals as well as expands and establishes customer relationships throughout all lines of business including lending, depository, insurance and wealth management.

Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, Dwyer worked at TD Banknorth since 1996 as a credit analyst, portfolio manager and commercial lender.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is active with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Make-A-Wish Program and serves on the boards of the Springfield Riverfront Development Corp. and the Springfield Technical Community College Foundation. Dwyer resides in Feeding Hills.
