East Cambridge Savings Bank recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the construction of the bank’s new Belmont location at 395 Trapelo Road.
The exterior of the new 3,300-square-foot structure will consist of a drive-up ATM and teller window, along with a parking lot, according to a statement. The interior of the branch will include four teller stations, two customer service desks and two private offices.
Belmont town officials joined representatives from East Cambridge Savings for the event.
"On behalf of the town of Belmont, I am excited that East Cambridge Savings Bank will remain in the Belmont community," said Belmont Selectman Angelo Firenze. "East Cambridge Savings Bank has had a long history of local community involvement and we look forward to extending that relationship for years to come."
The bank’s current Belmont office, located at 505 Common St., will remain open until the new Trapelo Road facility is complete, according to a statement.
"We have a long history of relationships with Belmont customers and we believe this location will add to our presence in the town of Belmont as a community leader and full-service banking resource," said Arthur C. Spears, president and CEO of East Cambridge Savings Bank.
