Red Sox slugger Adrian GonzalezAll-star Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez has re-signed his sponsorship agreement with Boston-based Eastern Bank in a deal that includes a charitable partnership, personal appearances and promotions across most major communications channels.

This year’s campaign is expected to leverage Eastern Bank’s partnership with NESN, the Red Sox television network.  It will include television; in-branch and online advertisements; a social media promotion on the bank’s Facebook page; personal appearances made by Gonzalez and more. Specific details about this year’s charitable partnership will be announced later this spring, the bank said.

"I look forward to partnering again with Eastern Bank, a great local organization that puts its customers and community first," said Gonzalez. "Together, we can accomplish a lot and make a difference for the underserved and neediest members of our community."

In 2011, after Gonzalez was traded to Boston from the San Diego Padres, Eastern Bank became the first Massachusetts-based company to sign the popular first baseman to an endorsement contract. As part of the agreement, Gonzalez and Eastern Bank together last fall donated $80,000 to eight Habitat for Humanity affiliates across eastern Massachusetts.

"Eastern Bank is excited to continue our partnership with Adrian Gonzalez," said Richard E. Holbrook, Eastern’s chairman and CEO.  "Last year, Adrian became an instant fan favorite for his superb on-field performance and philanthropic efforts in the community."
