Paul Alexander has been appointed chief marketing and communications officer of Eastern Bank.

“Paul is a talented marketing professional with a proven track record for launching big-picture ideas that drive bottom-line business results, brand equity, and employee engagement,” Eastern Bank President and COO Bob Rivers said in a statement. “His success in growing the world’s biggest and most recognizable brands will serve us well, as we continue to elevate that of Eastern Bank.”

Alexander most recently worked as chief communications officer for Liberty Mutual Insurance, where he handled all corporate brand marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, event strategy and major sports sponsorships.

He will report directly to Bob Rivers and joins Eastern’s 14-member management committee.
