Eastern Bank’s Mortgage Banking Dept. Grows

Boston-based Eastern Bank has added three new faces to its mortgage banking department.

Howard King has been named reverse mortgage specialist; Joann Ellington has joined the bank as a senior loan officer; and Mark D. Battle is the bank’s new senior loan consultant.

King will work out of Eastern Bank’s Reading and Lynn offices, covering Middlesex County. Prior to joining the bank, King worked as a reverse mortgage specialist with Reliant Mortgage Corp.

Ellington will work out of the bank’s Chelmsford office. Prior to joining Eastern Bank, Ellington worked as a loan officer at Wells Fargo.

Battle will work out of the Reading office. Prior to joining Eastern Bank, he worked as a senior loan consultant with Washington Mutual Bank.

Eastern Bank offers a variety of mortgages, including first-time homebuyers, construction, reverse mortgages and jumbo mortgages (single-family mortgages for more than $417,000).
