Egenera, a provider of open converged infrastructure software for data center management, has relocated its worldwide headquarters to Boxborough.

The company, which is moving from Marlborough, signed a five-year lease for approximately 26,000 square feet at 80 Central St. on the campus of Tech Central @ Boxborough.

The facility met the company’s growing needs for a larger data center, expanded research & development lab and additional office space for new employees, according to a statement.

Tech Central @ Boxborough was developed to meet the specific needs of high technology companies. Egenera’s new global headquarters features a laboratory for R&D teams, an executive briefing center showcasing the company’s hardware and software solutions, and a bright, contemporary workspace that can accommodate Egenera’s plans to hire technical and sales professionals in 2011.

"Egenera’s new corporate offices mark another milestone for the company in a year that has already seen its share of accomplishments. We posted strong financial results during the first three months of 2011; our fifth consecutive quarter of profitability, increased revenue, customer growth and partner expansion. We also anticipate a strong second quarter," said Pete Manca, president and CEO of Egenera.
