A suspected bank robber has been shot by police after allegedly threatening an officer with a knife.

Authorities say the suspect, whose name was not immediately made public, was brought to the hospital with two gunshot wounds to the upper body. He is in critical but stable condition.

The suspect is charged with armed assault with intent to murder and armed robbery. Per policy, the police-involved shooting will be investigated by the district attorney’s office.

Prosecutors say Everett Police responded to a reported bank robbery in progress at the Everett Co-Op Bank just before noon Tuesday. Police chased the suspect, who allegedly brandished a knife in a threatening manner before he was shot. (AP)
