Northern Bank & Trust Co. has hired Barbara Webb as assistant vice president and residential lending officer, the Woburn-based bank said.

Webb previously worked at Cambridge Savings Bank and East Cambridge Savings Bank. She has also worked at several other banks in the region.

Northern Bank hired Webb as part of an expansion of its mortgage lending team, the bank said in a statement.

Webb is a graduate of Suffolk University.Northern Bank has assets of about $500 million and offices throughout Middlesex County.
