A lighthouse in the middle of the Taunton River between Fall River and Somerset is up for sale again after plans to turn it into a brewery fell flat.
The federal General Services Administration recently announced that it is taking bids for 130-year-old Borden Flats Light for the second time in less than a year.
GSA spokeswoman Paula Santangelo told The Herald News that the 50-foot high lighthouse went back on the auction block after the high bidder in the initial sale defaulted on closing.
Michael Gabriel, a lawyer from Carson City, Nev., offered $55,000 for the property last August, intending to turn it into a microbrewery.
Any sale includes an agreement to preserve the lighthouse and allow Coast Guard personnel access to maintain the property. (AP)
