BofArobberyThe FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force is on the hunt for the "Brim Beanie Bandit," a serial bank robber who authorities consider to be armed and dangerous.

According to the FBI, the "Brim Beanie Bandit" has robbed four banks, and attempted a fifth, during the month of December in the Greater Boston area. Authorities describe him as a white man in his late 40s or early 50s, and approximately 5-foot-7and 150 pounds.

During the robberies, he has worn a dark sweatshirt or jacket, black pants, black gloves, dark brown or black boots, and a black or grey brim beanie cap, the FBI said. The "Brim Beanie Bandit" enters the bank, approaches the teller and either shows or leaves a note asking for money. In all robberies, he fled the bank in an unknown direction, and authorities do not know at this time if a vehicle is being used for transportation. 

NeedhamrobberyTo date, police and the FBI believe he is connected with bank robberies in Quincy, Stoughton, Needham and Braintree. He targeted a TD Bank branch, South Shore Bank, another TD Bank branch and Braintree Cooperative Bank, respectively. The bank robberies took place between Dec. 10 and Dec. 23. He also attempted a robbery on Dec. 10 at a Bank of America branch in Dorchester, authorities said.

FBI Boston is investigating the robberies, along with the Violent Crimes Task Force officer of the Massachusetts state police and police departments in Boston, Quincy, Stoughton, Needham and Braintree.

The FBI is offering a monetary reward for information leading directly to the arrest and charging of the robber. Anyone with information regarding the robbery should call the FBI’s Boston Division at 617-742-5533 or any of the local police named here.
