Mike Brown, a partner at FHO Partners, has received an inspiration award for supporting a nonprofit for families dealing with cancer patients.
Brown received the Kennis Nix Inspiration Award from Christopher’s Haven, a nonprofit that provides housing for families with children receiving cancer treatment at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital for Children.
Brown was recognized for his role in co-founding the Cape Cod Bay Challenge (CCBC), a 30-mile open ocean stand-up paddle from Plymouth to Provincetown across Cape Cod Bay to raise money to support Christopher’s Haven.
"Mike’s leadership in creating the Cape Cod Bay Challenge and his ongoing contributions to a critical organization like Christopher’s Haven illustrates his steadfast commitment to community involvement," said FHO Partners Managing Partner Joe Fallon. "His enthusiasm and generosity are an inspiration to the entire FHO team and our clients, and we are all excited for him to receive this award."
Brown co-founded the Cape Cod Bay Challenge in 2008 to share his passion for the sport of stand-up paddle surfing while raising money for a worthy cause. CCBC selected Christopher’s Haven as its sole beneficiary in 2009 and has raised more than $115,000 for the organization to date, according to a statement.
