Filenes1Havas, a multinational French communications firm and parent company of Boston advertising agency Arnold Worldwide, became the first major tenant of the Burham Building in Downtown Crossing, former home of Filene’s.

More than 600 staffers from Havas Media, Arnold Worldwide, Havas Edge, H4B and Havas PR will occupy "Havas Village," which stretches across four floors of the newly renovated building. The iconic Filene’s clock that adorns the historic building’s first floor has been rechristened with the Havas brand.

Arnold Worldwide president Pam Hamlin and Havas Media managing director Debie Kleiman participated in the official opening ceremony at 9 a.m. Monday morning, along with Boston City Council President Bill Linehan, Downtown Boston Business Improvement District President Rosemarie Sansone and Joe Larkin, principal at developer Millennium Partners.
