Boston-based First Trade Union Bank recently added two experienced lenders to its Commercial Banking team.
Eugene (Gene) Clerkin has been named senior vice president / commercial real estate, and will be responsible for business development and relationship management for the Bank’s New England commercial real estate (CRE) portfolio. He has more than 25 years experience in commercial real estate development and lending. Most recently he worked for Bank of America Community Development Corporation, where he managed its development subsidiary for New England and Washington, DC. Prior to that, he was the senior lender at Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation. Clerkin has a bachelor of arts from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Bentley University.
Liam Govostes has been named vice president / commercial lender, specializing in commercial and industrial (C&I) loans. Liam has extensive business development and C&I Lending experience, having worked as a senior relationship manager for seven years with Citizens Bank and, more recently, with Bank of America for three years. Mr. Govostes received his bachelor’s degree from UMASS Lowell and his MBA from Endicott College.
