Five Star Quality Care Director Koumantzelis Resigns, Fraiche To Take Over

Arthur G. Koumantzelis, Newton-based Five Star Quality Care Inc.’s independent director and member of the company’s audit, compensation and nominating and governance committees, has resigned. Donna D. Fraiche has replaced him.

Koumantzelis gave notice of his resignation on Monday and said his departure is not the result of any disagreement with the company, according to a statement. Fraiche will serve the remainder of Koumantzelis’ term that will expire at the 2012 annual meeting of shareholders.

Fraiche is a shareholder in the nationwide law firm of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz and is a member of the firm’s health law and public policy departments.
