Market Street at LynnfieldThe name of a mixed-use project planned for the former Colonial Country Club site has been changed to Market Street at Lynnfield.

It was previously been known as MeadowWalk at Lynnfield, according to a statement.

"As we market the property, we have been challenged by several retailers to come up with a more vibrant name that accurately represents the special environment we are creating," said Ted Tye, managing partner of Newton Lower Falls-based National Development. "The Market Street at Lynnfield name is perfect in light of the pedestrian oriented, contemporary village design of the development."

Market Street at Lynnfield will include retail, office and residential uses along with a nine-hole municipal golf course, according to a statement. The development team, which includes National Development and its joint venture partner, Chestnut Hill-based WS Development, recently presented an updated plan to the town of Lynnfield that calls for building the project in phases. The first phase, Market Street Village, is scheduled to begin in 2011.

Market Street Village will include 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space with a 45,000-square-foot grocery store. Future phases of Market Street at Lynnfield will include additional retail space, restaurants, offices and residential apartments.
