Former Hancock Exec. Joins SBLI

The Savings Bank Life Insurance Co. of Massachusetts (SBLI) has hired Peter Scavongelli as senior vice president and general counsel at its headquarters in Woburn.

Scavongelli has nearly 20 years of insurance industry legal, regulatory and compliance experience. Prior to joining SBLI, he was vice president in individual insurance products at Phoenix Insurance Co. in Hartford.

He previously served as state compliance officer and corporate secretary at John Hancock Financial Services in Boston.
