Chris Biotti, of Newton, has been named head of Neuberger Berman’s Private Wealth Management’s Boston office.
Biotti, 42, will work as part of the six-person Boston office, and the firm anticipates adding several additional private wealth management professionals there in the next year.
Biotti, a senior vice president, returns to the Boston area from San Francisco, where he held a similar senior wealth management role with Neuberger Berman. Previously, he was a member of the board of directors and a private banker with Deutsche Bank National Trust Co. He has also practiced law in both Massachusetts and California, according to a statement.
Prior to his law and private wealth careers, Biotti played ice hockey in the Calgary Flames organization, which selected him as a first-round National Hockey League draft pick in 1985. He was the first Harvard University ice hockey player to be chosen in the first round in the National Hockey League draft, according to a statement.
"The Boston area is a significant wealth management market for Neuberger Berman and we’re delighted to have Chris, with his expertise and deep roots in the region, lead and expand our efforts there," said George Walker, chairman and chief executive of Neuberger Berman. "He understands private wealth management from both legal and investment perspectives and serves as a true partner with his clients in managing their assets."
