Christopher B. Chandor Jr., a former real estate director for the Boston Red Sox, has been named vice president of asset management at Boston’s The Davis Cos.

Chandor will help maximize the performance and value of the Davis Cos. portfolio, and will formulate and implement long-range real estate asset management and fund management strategies, according to a statement.

"Chris brings a perfect blend of hands-on development and project management expertise and strategic planning to our team. He is familiar with the markets we are working in and with his construction and project management experience, he brings the expertise to oversee several of our recent acquisitions which will require project completion and significant renovation," said Jonathan Davis, CEO and founder of the Davis Cos. "I have always admired Chris’ work and am proud to have him fill this key position on our team."

Chandor has 20 years of real estate and project management experience. While serving as real estate director for the Boston Red Sox, he led development and construction of the new Boston Red Sox Stadium and spring training facility in Lee County, Fla. and held facilities management responsibility for all investment properties owned by New England Sports Ventures (the Red Sox parent company) in and around Fenway Park.

He is also a former senior development director at Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse and former vice president of development at Trammell Crow Co. He spent several years working in finance and lending, including two years as senior financial analyst at Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage.
