Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation is helping to bring the World Cup to patients at Children’s Hospital Boston.

The foundation’s $500 gift will help defray the cost of providing Official FIFA World Cup Panini sticker card albums and sticker cards to Children’s Hospital patients.

Filling the albums is a longstanding tradition in Latin American and European countries, where stickers are collected and traded much as baseball cards are collected in this country, according to a statement. The World Cup for Children Program is sponsored by Latin Roots, a nonprofit organization which focuses on improving the educational opportunities of Latino children, and Hispanic News Press.
