The Framingham Co-operative Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to the MetroWest Jewish Day School (MWJDS) Social Justice Initiative, making it the premier corporate sponsor of the program.
With the grant, MWJDS will launch a new upper grades program focused on community service and leadership. It will also expand the school’s annual Mitzvah Day, where participants perform "acts of kindness" for social service organizations throughout the community, according to Carolyn Keller, head of the school.
The MetroWest Jewish Day School grant was included in the total of $34,700 awarded during the Charitable Foundation’s most recent round of funding, according to a statement.
