French cancer treatment developer Nanobiotix has announced plans to open its first U.S. office in Boston.
Laurent Lévy, CEO of Nanobiotix, and Gov. Deval Patrick officially announced the opening of the company’s U.S. affiliate during a ceremony on Sept. 19 at the U.S. embassy in Paris in the company of Susan Windham-Bannister, CEO and president of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center.
"The opening of a U.S. affiliate is a key strategic step for Nanobiotix’s international ambitions," Lévy said in a statement. "The Boston area is the ideal location for us to access new talent, innovative research and clinical expertise in nanomedicine."
Patrick Tricoli will lead the development of the U.S. affiliate. He has been appointed vice president of corporate development for Nanobiotix. Tricoli has more than 25 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry and joins Nanobiotix from Sanofi, where he held a number of positions in both corporate development and research and development.
In a press release, the company stated that the Boston office was "the next step of Nanobiotix’s International expansion, allowing the company to work [more closely with] the U.S. industrial and financial communities."
"Massachusetts leads the world in life sciences thanks to our growth strategy of investing in education, innovation and infrastructure," Patrick said in a statement. "We welcome Nanobiotix, and we look forward to working with them to create jobs and opportunities in the commonwealth."
