Boston’s JCJ Architecture has added Richard Friedson as design principal – part of the company’s continued expansion of its Boston office.
Friedson and JCJ Principal Greg Smolley will oversee several new project assignments in the Boston region, building on the office’s expertise in higher education, athletic complexes, public assembly, K-12 and public projects, according to a statement.
"Richard Friedson brings more than 35 years of experience to the JCJ family and will lead the firm’s higher education practice," said Peter Stevens, JCJ’s president. "His expertise in design and environmental stewardship – areas of extreme importance to our clients – is a tremendous asset, bringing greater depth to our already established team."
Friedson has planned and designed projects in 22 states; earning awards for architecture, planning and urban design throughout his career. He is a member of the Boston Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects and the Society of College and University Planners. "I’m honored to join the ranks of one of the most respected architectural firms in the U.S. and look forward to growing our presence in Boston and beyond," added Friedson.
