Woburn-based GEI Consultants, Inc., an ecological science and engineering firm, EEA, Inc. based in Garden City and Stony Brook, New York.
"EEA is a highly regarded, accomplished technical firm with a culture quite similar to GEI’s, and we are thrilled that EEA has chosen to join us," said Francis D. Leathers, president of GEI. "Both firms’ core missions have always been the same: to provide professional services of exceptional value to our clients. EEA’s expertise strengthens many of our offerings not only to clients on Long Island and in metropolitan New York, but also across the United States."
EEA has completed more than 6,000 projects, primarily on Long Island, in the New York City metropolitan area, and New York State. EEA’s core services include natural resource and marine studies, real estate property due diligence, environmental modeling and management, and environmental and ecological services supporting energy generation, including shale gas and wind farm development.
"We have worked with GEI on projects and have been impressed with GEI’s national reputation for technical excellence. I am certain that joining GEI enhances our ability to service our many long-time EEA clients," said Leland M. Hairr, co-founder and president of EEA.
EEA was founded in 1979 by Hairr, Roy R. Stoecker, and Allen Serper. Other senior EEA staff joining GEI from EEA include Nicholas J. Recchia, Richard Fasciani, and Laura Schwanof.
GEI consults on geotechnical, environmental, water resources and ecological issues, and has served on over 35,000 projects in 50 states and 22 countries.
