Boston engineering firm GEI Consultants Inc. has been retained by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) to perform an engineering and planning assessment to help determine a new home for the Port of Boston Unified Command Center.
Under the agreement, GEI and will perform a needs assessment to compile stakeholder requirements; a feasibility study to assess stakeholder needs; a vulnerability assessment to determine any risks associated with these needs; and an implementation plan to establish construction protocol, according to a statement.
In addition to EOPSS, stakeholders include the U.S. Coast Guard, the Massachusetts State Police, the Boston Police and Fire Departments, Boston Emergency Services, the Boston Mayor’s office and MASSPORT.
