Green design-build construction company The Alares Group has recently purchased property and moved its headquarters to 248 Copeland St. in Quincy.

The construction firm, which was previously located in Braintree, now occupies a 5,000-square-foot building and employs 12 full-time and six part-time employees. The staff consists of licensed construction supervisors, construction managers, HVAC installers and laborers.

The Alares Group was founded in 2008 by Green Beret Don Maggioli in the garage of his Quincy home. The company has grown to consist of three divisions: construction, design and energy and the environment.

"We are delighted to put down roots in Quincy," said Maggioli. "Our new office building is just off the expressway and gives us easy access to all of New England and beyond. The central location also provides a talented and diverse work force for our growing company."

Maggioli has more than 24 years experience in the environmental/renewable energy field. He also has extensive experience in construction management, and design/build of various types of systems. In recent years, Maggioli has become an authority in renewable energy and the environment.

Seventy-five percent of Alares’ senior staff are veterans. Tony Domenico, the vice president of construction, was also a green beret and served combat tours in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo.
