The Groveland Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Sunday morning.

At 11:37 a.m., a man walked into the TD Bank branch on Main Street and handed a note to the teller demanding money, claiming he was armed with a gun and a knife.

The teller handed the suspect an unknown quantity of cash and he fled. Nobody was injured in the exchange.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, approximately 5 feet 11 inches, weighing 160-170 pounds. He was wearing a blue Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap with white letters and a white brim, a black hooded raincoat, blue jeans, sunglasses and black and white tennis shoes.

The investigation so far indicates that the suspect fled south on Route 27/School Street toward Georgetown.

Groveland Police are investigating the robbery, led by Detective Steven Petrone. The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force is also investigating.
